About HAWA

Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA) was established as a Non-Governmental Organization and volunteer Association in 1991. HAWA recently has nearly 400 company members – operating in the following fields:
Wood processing, Handicraft, Trade & Service provider
HAWA annually organize 2 exhibitions / trade fairs: Domestic and international exporting market. 2017 will be the first year of Vietnam WoodMac exhibition – a wood machinery and material exhibition organized by HAWA.

Enforcing the potential and resources of Vietnam Wood Working industry to increase export to international market and improve domestic market.
Building up strong relationship between members with each other and between members with other organization
Contributing into the development of Vietnam Wood Working industry

Representing and defending legitimate interests of the members.
Organizing trade fairs, training courses, competitions, conferences, and workshops.
Promotion of participation of Vietnamese furniture & handicraft products in trade fairs worldwide.
Providing members with up-dated and useful information on timber sourcing, markets, technology and business
opportunities.
Establishment of contacts with international & national business associations.
Maintaining regular contacts with representatives of the government.
Promoting and maintaining the exchange of economic and technical experiences.
Public relations.

Policy and advocacy for members by Government , domestic and foreign organizations
Mobilizing and consulting State policies for enterprises
Protecting and advising members’ legal rights
Implementing projects for the industry System of legal origin timber (HAWA DDS)

Networking and business matching for members, Sharing orders, seeking suppliers and customers.
Participating in international trade promotion projects: SIPPO project, USAID project, international fairs like Las Vegas, Kofurn

Training to improve competitiveness: Digital Transformation for Wood industry
Providing a playground for Young and innovative designer.
Organizing study tour, international trade fair visit, selling missin to EU, USA and Asian countries
Prioritized services and offers for member participating in inbound fairs: VIFA Expo, GU ( Annually), Vietnamwood, home (Binually)

Sharing experience, management, production, business, design and supplier capabilities with enterprises in the same industry…
